Private team member Ayhan Carkin, who is also a suspect of the Susurluk
Case and eight friends of him have been arrested by Balikesir Security
Administration for they forced those that entered a land auction in Erdek to
withdraw.
According to a Milliyet Daily reporter, the units inferior to Balikesir
Security Administration Organised Crime Department determined that private
team member Carkin, who
has been dismissed of his office for he was related
to Susurluk case, and eight friends of him have arrived to Erdek town of
Balikesir to compete in a land auction.
Taking the group under pursuit the police arrested Carkin and his friends
yesterday early in the morning and a questioning team has been sent to town.
It has been determined that Carkin and his friends came to town to force the
others to compete in the tender to withdraw.
Ayhan Carkin's name has always been mentioned in relation to the Susurluk
gang. Carkin had previously been arrested and was accused of being in
relation to the murder of Omer Lutfi Topal in August 1996.
Carkin who was brought to Ankara, when Elazig independent deputy Mehmet Agar
was the Interior Minister, was released as he was found not guilty.
