State's ointment for grieved mothers

Ecevit and Bahceli met with the mothers of martyrs. Ecevit: Apo is the most pitiless murderer of the Turkish history.

       Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit stated that Abdullah Ocalan was the most pitiless murderer of the Turkish history. Mr.Ecevit received the representatives of the "Families of the Martyrs Associations" in the Prime Ministry. Accompinied with Deputy Prime Minister Husamettin Ozkan, Ecevit talked with the 29 people representing the families of those who have lost their lives in the fight against PKK. " I hope that God's mercy and grace be over our children who have lost their lives during the fight given againts PKK. I hope that God will protect our nation from the evil seperatist terrorist actions." said PM Ecevit. Articulating that the state shares their grief, Ecevit added that the government has been taking and will continue to take the necessray measures so that the same pain will not be suffered once again. Mr.Ecevit explained the families, the reasons behind the delay of Ocalan's execution stating that Turkey is acting in compliance with international obligations and within the scope of global law. Pakze Alp Akbaba, one represantative of the families of martyrs, said after the meeting, "We had a very intimate conversation. Our grief is inexplicable. We articulated our problems, but I do not know how helpful they can be." The representatives have also been received by Devlet Bahceli who said the following after their meeting, " I see that the families are very patient. They are understanding about the decision the government has given. They have trust in the Tukish justice system."
